Morrissey Pulls Out of Second Gig Due to Illness

MorrisseyMorrissey has had to pull out of a second gig due to illness.

The former Smiths star, who is midway through his US tour, canceled a date earlier this week and had been forced to postpone another gig at Atlantic City's Revel Casino Hotel last nigt.

The legendary singer, who will release his new album World Peace Is None Of Your Business this month, is adamant he will be back on stage tonight.

"The tour will resume as originally scheduled, without question, at the Boston Opera House on Saturday, June 7," Morrissey posted on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the singer's opening act Kristen Young has rubbished rumors she had caught the same bug which is why she has been removed from the remaining dates. "@CriminalRecords @RivalEnt@solidcolt I do not have a virus. I had an allergy attack yesterday....and I am now great. But, thanks [sic]," she wrote on Twitter.

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney has been released from hospital.

The 71-year-old musician was discharged by doctors last night after spending almost a week recovering from a mystery virus at St Luke's International Hospital in Tokyo, Japan.

The Beatles legend, who was forced to cancel the Asian leg of his Out There! world tour, was excited about being reunited with his family as he boarded a private jet heading back home. "Paul has really been through the mill. He was desperately sad he had to cancel those shows but he was really poorly. But he is on the mend which is great news," a source said. Paul's wife Nancy Shevell, 53, was by his bedside throughout the six days he spent in hospital.

The US leg of Paul's tour will go ahead as planned on June 14.

The Beatles legend had to cancel two dates of his Out There Japan Tour 2014 in the country's capital and Osaka after falling ill with a virus, which eventually led to him being sent to hospital.

"Since contracting a virus last week that led to the postponement of tour dates, Paul received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo. He will make a complete recovery and has been ordered to take a few days rest. Paul has been extremely moved by all the messages and well wishes he has received from fans all over the world," his rep said.

The 71-year-old rocker has also postponed a show in Seoul, South Korea, but is still set to continue with his tour of the US next month.

Janelle Monáe Scraps Australian Tour Due to Illness

Janelle MonaeJanelle Monae is "devastated" she has had to cancel her Australian tour due to illness.

The "Electric Lady" singer, who was set to perform a number of dates on her Australian and New Zealand leg of her Golden Electric Tour, had been advised by doctors to scrap the gigs and rest.

According to Billboard, a statement issued by promoters, Live Nation Australasia, said, "It has been confirmed that the remainder of the Golden Electric tour has been canceled and there will be no rescheduled performances. Ms. Monae is devastated at not being able to perform for her fans and has vowed to return to our shores in the not-too-distant future. Ticket holders will be contacted by the relevant ticketing outlet to advise of the process for obtaining a refund."

On Saturday, Janelle canceled her Melbourne show after support act Kimbra's opening performance, even though her band was already set up. The singer then canceled Monday night's show in Sydney and has now pulled the plug on the remaining dates.

Paul McCartney Cancels Japanese Tour

Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney has been forced to cancel his Japanese tour due to illness.

The former Beatle is believed to have contracted a virus and has scrapped the two remaining dates on his Out There Japan Tour 2014 - a gig at the Nippon Budokan hall in Tokyo, where the band first during their first Japan tour in 1966, and a concert at Yanmar Stadium in Osaka.

A message on the 71-year-old star's website states that doctors have ordered him to have a "complete rest." Promoters Kyodo Tokyo said in a statement that Paul "will regrettably have to cancel the remaining Japanese shows. Paul is still not feeling better and this cancellation is unavoidable."

The star is reportedly "upset" about the situation as "he has only ever had to reschedule a handful of shows in his entire career" and hates disappointing fans. A statement from Paul on his website reads, "Thank you so much for your kind messages of support. I'm so very touched. Unfortunately my condition has not improved overnight. I was really hoping that I'd be feeling better today. I'm so disappointed and sorry to be letting my fans down."

Ke$ha Postpones Remaining Tour Dates

Ke$haKesha has postponed the rest of her tour to focus on her health.

The "Timber" hitmaker was set to resume her five-leg Warrior world tour, which kicked off in May 2013, next month but decided to cancel the remaining two US dates after checking into the Chicago-area Timberline Knolls Center to seek treatment for anorexia and bulimia in early January.

The 26-year-old star released the following statement yesterday: "I was so looking forward to performing at these dates but I need to follow my doctor's advice and get my health back on track."

Ke$ha was due to perform in Hammond, Indiana on March 15 and Green Bay, Wisconsin on April 13, but has now cleared her schedule in a bid to overcome her issues before re-entering the spotlight.

Lou Reed Dies of Liver Disease

Lou ReedLou Reed died of liver disease.

The legendary Velvet Underground frontman and pioneer of modern rock passed away on Sunday aged 71, and it has now been confirmed he died of complications with his liver, which he had been suffering with for a year.

The "Perfect Day" star had undergone a liver transplant in April and also had to cancel his Coachella Music and Arts Festival in California due to his illness. The transplant initially appeared to be a success and Lou was looking forward to the future and to returning to performing. "I am a triumph of modern medicine, physics and chemistry. I am bigger and stronger than ever," he wrote on Facebook in June.

However, more recently the singer and guitarist had taken a turn for the worse and when it was confirmed the disease had entered its final stages he refused further treatment and returned home. "We all agreed that we did everything we could," his doctor, Charles Miller, told the New York Times.

Mumford & Sons star Ted Dwane is at home recovering after having brain surgery.

The 28-year-old bassist had emergency surgery last week after a scan revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain, but he is now convalescing and has thanked fans for their messages of support. In a posting on the band's website - accompanied by a picture of him sporting a shaved head - he revealed, "Bear with a sore head! Thanks so much for all the well wishing, it seems to be working! I'm home."

Mumford & Sons Bassist Rushed to Hospital

Ted Dwane of Mumford & SonsMumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has undergone emergency brain surgery.

According to a statement released on the band's official website, the English rocker had a blood cot in his head:

"Ted has been feeling unwell for a few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment... The scans revealed a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation. Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery."

The band was forced to postpone three shows - two in Texas and one in New Orleans - but has stated that they do not intend to postpone any others: "We have no plans to cancel or postpone any other appearances along this current tour."

The other members ended the statement on a touching note: "We're all wishing Ted a speedy recovery. Much love, Mumford & Sons."
